Brown Bag Lunch Vigil
A permanent project of the Direct Action committee is the Brown Bag Lunch Vigils, a national movement sponsored by the Progressive Democrats of America.
The Brown Bag Lunch Vigils’ original aim was to get out a simple message: “Healthcare NOT Warfare.” As the attacks on progressive values and the principles of democracy, equality, and fairness have escalated over the past nine months, the focus has broadened. Human needs are being sacrificed at the altar of corporate control and the enrichment of a few.
The sad truth is that we could afford jobs creation, clean elections, green energy, and even healthcare for all simply by ending the wars and occupations in Afghanistan and Iraq and by cutting the Defense budget down to what’s truly needed for defense. It’s up to us to redirect our government’s priorities by standing up and speaking out for progressive values.Get involved:
